The Redmi 13C 5G debuts only half year after Redmi 12C boasting notable upgrades and modifications. These changes also include 5G connectivity. This makes this smartphone the most affordable 5G offering from Xiaomi in entry-level to budget sector. Other improvements have been made to CPU and more compared to Redmi 12C. This was mentioned in our first impressions. Xiaomi has introduced 4G variant alongside the new ‘Redmi 13C’ model.

Redmi 13C 5G and Redmi 13C price and availability in India

The Redmi 13C 5G will be available in three variants. These will have different combinations of RAM and storage options. In India, 4GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs. 9999. The pricing details for the Redmi 13C variants are as follows: the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 11,499, while the higher-end 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant costs Rs. 13,499. Additionally, the Starlight Silver, Starlight Green, and Starlight Black models offer a choice between two colors.

The Redmi 13C (4G variant) will be available in three different configurations, offering various combinations of RAM and storage capacities. In India the 4GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs. 7,999. The 6GB + 128GB variant costs Rs. 8999. The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 10,499. The model is available in two colours: Stardust Black and Star Shine Green.

Redmi 13C 4G variant will be available in India starting December 12. Redmi 13C 5G will be available starting December 16 on Amazon. It will also be available on Mi Online Shop and other online retailers

Redmi 13C Specifications, Features

The Redmi 13C 4G model has comparable specifications. It has 6.74-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD dot drop display. The refresh rate is 90Hz.It operates on MIUI 14, which is built upon Android 13. The phone has three-slot SIM card tray. There are two slots for nano-SIM cards. Additionally one slot is for a microSD card. The 4G variant, powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC like the Redmi 12C, offers configurations with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Also, it has up to 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage.

The Redmi 13C has a triple rear camera arrangement. This includes 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture. Furthermore a 2-megapixel macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. There is third camera to capture depth data. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera with bright f/2.0 aperture takes selfies.

Similar to its 5G counterpart, the Redmi 13C boasts a 5000mAh battery capacity and facilitates rapid charging with support for up to 18W charging speeds. Although it will only come with 10W charger. The phone also supports 4G bands. There is dual-band Wi-Fi Bluetooth 5.3, compatibility for standard GPS systems. A 3.5mm headphone connector is included with USB Type-C connection.

The Redmi 13C 5G comes with a 6.74-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD display. It features a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sampling rate that can achieve up to 180Hz. The phone is powered by MIUI 14. It is based on Android 13.The phone features a triple-slot SIM card tray that accommodates two nano SIM cards, providing flexibility for dual SIM functionality along with space for a microSD card. A dedicated slot for microSD cards is included (up to 1 TB). The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC and offers configurations with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage options include up to 256GB of UFS2.2 storage.

Regarding imaging, the rear camera setup includes two cameras, with one being user-accessible. It includes 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture and second camera for getting depth data when using portrait mode. A 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture is housed in U-shaped (dot drop) notch at the top of the display for taking selfies.

The phone packs 5,000mAh battery. Unlike the previous generation it now supports 18W charging. Xiaomi only includes 10W charger in the package. This requires users to buy 18W charger separately.

Xiaomi does not assign an official IP rating to this device. Instead, the company claims it offers splash resistance and dust resistance. The phone supports multiple 5G bands (SA: n1/n3/n5/n8/n28/n40/n78, NSA: n1/n3/n40/n78/n8). It also supports dual standby. Additionally, it features Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, support for various GPS systems, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C connector.
